Sergeant James Blanchard is a native of Bennington, Vermont. He attended Mount Anthony Union High School and holds an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from the Community College of Vermont. He is currently completing his Bachelor’s Degree through Johnson State College. Sergeant Blanchard began his career in law enforcement in 2006, working for the Bennington County Sheriff’s Department and began working at the Manchester Police Department in 2007. Sergeant Blanchard serves as one of the agency’s Field Training Officers. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2012 and to the rank of Sergeant in 2014. Sergeant Blanchard also serves on the Law Enforcement Advisory Board for the Southwestern Vermont Career Development Center Law Enforcement Program.
